Background and role in Ohio Bobcat Club

Samantha Godwin joins the Ohio Bobcat Club as the Associate Director for Development.

Godwin will oversee the Annual Giving program sharing responsibility for the strategic direction of Athletics’ successful fundraising.

Samantha joins the Ohio Bobcat Club after serving as the Director of Community Engagement and Development for Habitat for Humanity of Southeast Ohio for the last two years. While with the organization, Godwin generated $200,000 through special events and solicited $250,000 from new and existing donors.

Prior to working with Habitat for Humanity, she was the Director of Development for McKinley for Congress, raising $1.5 million during that election cycle.

Samantha played softball at Florida Gulf Coast and earned her Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Psychology and Criminal Forensic Science in 2009. She went on to earn her Master’s Degree in Political Science at West Virginia in 2015.

Samantha is married to Charles Godwin and are the proud parents to Tucker, their golden retriever.
